Signet Accel Appoints New Chief Executive Officer Amid Growth
- Seasoned leader joins fast-growing healthcare software and services company; continues course of growth and expansion with 544% year- over-year revenue growth in 2015

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Signet Accel announced today that John Raden has joined the company as chief executive officer. As a software and services company specializing in data integration and harmonization, Signet Accel brings true interoperability in big data and increased speed of discovery to translational medicine. With more than 15 years’ experience in healthcare and technology, Raden will lead Signet Accel in its continued expansion and growing portfolio of national and international clients.

“Signet Accel has a proven platform that closes the gaping hole of interoperability in the healthcare industry,” Raden said. “Joining this powerful, experienced team was a no-brainer. In the last 15 years, I’ve watched the ability to share and exchange information in healthcare become more and more important, in both a regulatory sense and in improving patient care. The potential in the marketplace is unlimited, and I’m proud to help this company move forward.”

Most recently senior vice president of Core Solutions, Inc., a leading electronic health records software company, Raden’s experience includes global leadership positions with industry organizations Netsmart, Sequest Technologies and The Echo Group.

“John invests in people first; we have that in common,” said Tony Manna, founder and chairman of Signet Enterprises, a diversified international holding company with business interests in North America, Europe and China, and parent company to Signet Accel. “He brings more than just experience and expertise to the role, he brings high character and leadership. I have great belief in John’s ability to bring Signet Accel and its platform continued success and recognition in the healthcare industry. ”

Avec™, Signet Accel’s federated data integration platform, provides the ability to connect and harmonize disparate databases across healthcare verticals, allowing researchers to identify patterns and trends over a large patient population and offering comprehensive insight into both research and patient treatment. Robust repositories of connected data are a key resource in realizing the promise of precision medicine, a new research effort aimed at improving health and treating disease by accounting for patients’ individual differences.

“Tony sees the value of technology and its potential to change the world of healthcare,” Raden said. “There’s a human element to our work. Connecting data to the benefit of the patient has always been a distant, near-impossible goal in our industry. Finally giving physicians and researchers access to the data they’ve known about but been unable to reach means they can start minimizing risk and improving outcomes. There’s nothing more exciting in the world of medicine.”

In 2015, Signet Accel posts a 544% increase in year-over-year growth. New clients include:

  • U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs VINCI initiative, an initiative to improve researchers' access to VA data and to facilitate the analysis of said data while ensuring Veterans' privacy and data security
  • Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers, comprised of 11 nationally and internationally recognized cancer centers
  • The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, in the creation of a Cancer Research Information Exchange platform
  • Cleveland Area Research Platform for Advancing Translational Healthcare (CLEARPATH) initiative, a $21.5 million joint venture between Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic, and University Hospitals to support healthcare information sharing amongst participating sites

“We are especially excited about 2016, because we’re meeting a glaring need for the healthcare industry,” Raden said. “Our growth says a lot about our people and our platform. Our clients are the greatest mouthpiece for our work and that with Signet Accel, true interoperability is possible.”

Since Raden’s arrival at Signet Accel, the company has also doubled its footprint with a move to downtown Columbus and launched new branding, along with an updated website at SignetAccel.com.
