MCG Experts to Speak at HIMSS 2024 on Prior Auth Automation and CMS Final Rule Compliance

Leader in payer-provider interoperability will host sessions on burden reduction, artificial intelligence, and CMS Final Rule compliance

ORLANDO, Fla., March 5, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- MCG Health, part of the Hearst Health network and an industry leader in technology-enabled evidence-based guidance, will host two presentations at the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition (March 11-15, 2024) in Orlando, Florida. These sessions will focus on MCG's successful efforts in implementing the nation's first, scalable prior authorization automation workflow between health plans and hospitals. MCG experts will also discuss how this new technology can support compliance efforts with the Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule (CMS-0057-F) which was announced by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on January 17, 2024.

"With the release of the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule, MCG is well-prepared to expand this optimized workflow..." - Rajesh Godavarthi, Associate Vice President of Technology and Interoperability

MCG's Associate Vice President of Technology and Interoperability, Rajesh Godavarthi, will co-present the first session with MCG's Associate Vice President of Data Science, Justin Allred, and Brandy O'Diam, MCG Associate Director of Product Management. Their presentation, "AI & Interoperability: Optimizing Prior Authorization Automation", will take place in the HIMSS Interoperability Theater on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 11:15-11:35 AM ET. The subject matter experts will explain how leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) can help support decision transparency in the clinical authorization process and reduce burdensome tasks.

Mr. Godavarthi and Ms. O'Diam will also present the second interoperability showcase, "Prior Auth Automation: Insights from Real World Implementers (Parts 1 & 2)," on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 2:15-3:05 PM ET. This will be a panel discussion focused on the successful implementations that MCG has already completed with multiple payers and providers. With consideration for the CMS Final Rule (CMS-0057-F), panelists will also explore successful strategies for bridging clinical and IT needs between different stakeholders, improving operational efficiencies, and enhancing the patient experience.

When asked about the upcoming HIMSS 2024 presentations, Mr. Godavarthi said, "MCG is excited to highlight our interoperability success that is already significantly reducing burdens for patients, hospitals, and health insurers. With the release of the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule, MCG is well-prepared to expand this optimized workflow, promote payer-provider collaboration, and help patients receive the right care at the right time."
