The startup's CEO Chrissa McFarlane is scheduled to discuss how blockchain technologies can improve healthcare data management.

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Patientory, Inc. is excited to announce that they will be attending the 2019 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Conference (HiMSS) in Orlando, Florida. The company's CEO, Chrissa McFarlane, will also be conducting a presentation. Her session, "Unlocking Healthcare Data: The Evolution and Ramifications of Blockchain," will take place on Wednesday, February 13th, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the Orange County Convention Center - W230A (Session ID 92).

"We always look forward to attending HiMSS. The Blockchain Taskforce which meets virtually on a monthly basis has come a long way since starting with a little over 5 attendees in Summer 2017," said McFarlane. "Having the opportunity to discuss progress of blockchain in the healthcare space with fellow innovators in the space is such an honor."

Patientory, Inc. is the company behind the Patientory app, which allows users to easily view, manage, and share their medical information with healthcare providers. The app is built on PTOYNet a HIPAA-compliant, blockchain storage network. Users can record and transfer data seamlessly between wearables, smartphones, and desktops. The goal of Patientory is to give patients more ownership over their healthcare data for insights and improved healthcare quality.

Patientory was recently recognized as one of the Top 10 Most Innovative Companies according to the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). Every year, TAG searches for Georgia-based companies doing great things in the tech industry, and Patientory is thrilled to be recognized as a 2019 Top 10 Innovative Company.

The startup also recently partnered with Georgia State University for a clinical affiliation with their College of Nursing and Health Professions. Patientory hopes this partnership will enrich student learning experiences and aid them in the understanding of up-and-coming medical trends before they advance into their careers.

The company is one of the first to integrate iris-scanning technology into a mobile healthcare-focused application. IrisGuard, a company currently employing their iris-scanning platform to aid the United Nations in Jordan, is collaborating with Patientory to bring the identification technology to the app. This could help cut down on the rampant fraud that costs healthcare insurance payers billions in the United States alone.
