Hyland Healthcare Demonstrates Successful Interoperability at IHE Connectathon and HIMSS19

CLEVELAND, Feb. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- At the 2019 IHE North American Connectathon in Cleveland and the HIMSS19 Interoperability Showcase in Orlando, Hyland Healthcare successfully demonstrated the interoperability of a suite of healthcare solutions, including OnBase, Acuo, PACSgear and NilRead. The group of products represented Hyland's biggest showing to date at the prestigious interoperability testing events.

The IHE North American Connectathon is the healthcare industry's largest, most rigorous interoperability testing event. Hyland and hundreds of other industry leaders gathered for the weeklong event to collaborate and test implementations of IHE profiles and other world-class healthcare IT standards.

The Hyland IHE actors were part of over two hundred successful tests that were performed against other vendors and graded by independent IHE monitors. The interoperability actors and profiles are part of numerous Hyland products, including the OnBase integrated source repository; the Acuo VNA repository, registry, PIX manager, and ARR (audit records repository); the NilRead viewing platform; and the PACSScan capture and connectivity suite.

The new profiles tested this year focus on patient consent and administration, Advanced Patient Privacy Consents, Basic Patient Privacy Consents, Patient Administration Management and Restricted Metadata Update. These tools help give patients more control over their medical information.

At the HIMSS19 Interoperability Showcase, Hyland Healthcare participated in the "enabling cancer moonshot" user story, which focuses on a patient's journey from a cancer diagnosis through acceptance in a pharmaceutical trial, treatment, and finally having her data sent to a state cancer registry. Hyland Healthcare demonstrated the ability to view, edit and successfully archive DICOM content with the NilRead viewer and Acuo VNA.

"Successful testing at these important events validates Hyland Healthcare's longtime focus on interoperability, ensuring our growing portfolio of healthcare solutions continues to work seamlessly within and across organizations," said Razvan Atanasiu, Hyland Healthcare's CTO. "By placing interoperability at the core of our architecture, customers can compete in a rapidly-evolving healthcare environment. We equip them with future-ready technology that also leverages their existing tech investments to safely and rapidly provide information to healthcare professionals or patients when and where they need it."

In early February, Razvan Atanasiu was promoted to CTO of healthcare at Hyland. He joined the company in 2017 with the acquisition of the Perceptive business unit and has more than 20 years of proven success in the development and delivery of enterprise healthcare software.
