IHP Expo: Digital Transformation & Secure Destruction Solutions
The IHP is designed for visitors to experience technology across the care continuum, telling the story of a patient, caregiver or provider through different healthcare solution pathways and demonstrating the value of the vendor solutions involved. Iron Mountain will join the IHP exhibition with demonstrations of its Iron Cloud CPR in the IHP ED, Labor and Delivery and High Acuity Patient rooms; and its SITAD service in the Medical Clinic room. These demonstrations will be included in the technology centric educational pavilion, one of the most visited Pavilions at HIMSS, featuring three days of guided tours, education sessions and conferences showcasing digital technologies across the entire continuum of care.

Panel Session: Evolving to Cyber Resiliency Strategies
Iron Mountain's panel session will focus on the design and implementation of a cyber-resilience strategy for healthcare providers, leverage perspectives from FBI, health IT and cyber recovery experts. Faced with budget constraints and increasingly complex data privacy and security requirements, healthcare providers must also contend with growing sophistication of cyber threats and criminals looking to steal critical and valuable data. With these factors drawing the attention of the c-suite, a new approach to protecting this data is required that elevates the focus on cyber resilience.

This session will share practical advice on where to start and discuss best practices for enabling the seamless implementation of a cyber-resilience strategy, including how to design a cyber-resilience strategy, using real world examples to identify the unique requirements and components of a modern cyber recovery and cyber-resilience plan. The panel, moderated by Anthony Guerra, editor-in-chief of healthsystemCIO.com, will feature:

  • A cyber agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation;
  • Sri Bharadwaj, CISSP, PMP director, Information Services and CISO, UC Irvine Health
  • James D. Shook, Esq. CIPP/US, director, DPS Cybersecurity & Compliance Practice, Dell EMC | Data Protection Solutions
  • Pete Gerr, senior product manager, Iron Cloud Cyber-Resilience Solutions, Iron Mountain

"For many healthcare providers, it's no longer a question of 'if' they will experience data loss or data jeopardy from a cyber event, it's 'when'," said Pete Gerr, Iron Mountain. "This places a premium on the cyber resiliency of their infrastructure. As technology continues to digitally transform the healthcare experience, providers need to ensure they can get the most from their data while keeping it safe from privacy and security vulnerabilities, elevating cyber-resilience and establishing a platform to enable the advancement of strategic, technology-driven initiatives."
