Bernoulli Health to Participate in HIMSS Interoperability Showcase
Bernoulli to demonstrate the essential role of real-time data in clinical evaluation and patient recovery

MILFORD, Conn., Feb. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Bernoulli Health, the developer of the advanced Bernoulli One™ clinical surveillance, medical device integration (MDI), and real-time data analytics platform, will participate again this year at the HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition. HIMSS takes place March 5-9 at the Venetian-Palazzo Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, NV. Bernoulli will demonstrate the power of the Bernoulli One connectivity platform in the Interoperability Showcase, booth #11955.

Since 1989, Bernoulli has developed solutions, including the all-inclusive Bernoulli One™ platform. A single solution for continuous patient health monitoring and clinical surveillance, medical device integration, and real-time data analytics, there are no other solutions as advanced as Bernoulli One. The Bernoulli software helps save patient lives as it continuously detects deteriorating patient conditions and notifies clinicians of potential events. Bernoulli headquarters are in Milford, CT.

Integral in two use case categories in the Interoperability Showcase, Bernoulli will play the role of a vendor-neutral medical device integrator – aggregating real-time data from a variety of medical devices including ventilators – and will distribute real-time waveforms and patient data to the EHR and smartphones.

The two use cases categories in which Bernoulli will participate include the heart attack and organ transport care simulations. More specifically:

  • The heart attack simulation will highlight Bernoulli's ability to aggregate and analyze real-time data, alerts and alarms from Baxter IV infusions pumps, Drager ventilators and patient monitors including live waveforms, and to send physiologic monitor waveform data to the Epic EHR.
  • In the organ transport care simulation, Bernoulli will demonstrate its ability to integrate with Invenix IV infusion pumps, Masimo pulse oximeters, Mindray patient monitors, and Spok's clinical communication and collaboration application.

Earlier this year, Bernoulli participated in the IHE North American Connectathon Week (NA) at the co-located facilities of the Cleveland Convention Center, the Global Center for Health Innovation and the HIMSS Innovation Center. Bernoulli has been involved with testing protocols across medical platforms at the Connectathon for the past four years. Sponsored by Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE), a not for profit that promotes the adoption and use of standards interoperability, the Connectathon is a week-long event in which health IT professionals gather to test a vast array of technology solutions from across the health IT arena.

At this year's Connectathon, Bernoulli passed all 48 tests that it participated in across multiple IHE domains and profiles with 22 different test partners, including Epic, Cerner, Baxter, ICU Medical, GE Healthcare, Medtronic, Philips and Hill-Rom. Based on the success at the Connectathon, Bernoulli was selected to participate in the clinical scenarios simulated at the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase during this year's HIMSS conference. Bernoulli One is the market's only real-time, end-to-end, connected healthcare platform that combines comprehensive and vendor-agnostic medical device integration with powerful middleware, clinical surveillance, telemedicine/virtual ICU, advanced alarm management, clinical surveillance analytics, and robust distribution capabilities into a single solution.

About Bernoulli Health

The mission of Bernoulli® Health is to improve patient safety in real time. Since 1989, Bernoulli has developed solutions including the all-inclusive Bernoulli One platform. This results in improved patient observation and provider workflows. Bernoulli has achieved FDA Class II clearance for use in both patient monitoring and secondary alarm management.
