Provider Organizations Deliver Value-based Outcomes through Partnerships with SCIO Health Analytics
SCIO's Comprehensive Population Risk Management and Revenue Accuracy Solutions Provide Rapid, Actionable Insights to Manage Total Cost of Care While Improving Quality

WEST HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SCIO Health Analytics supports healthcare organizations' population health initiatives with flexible solutions that deliver rapid, actionable insights and value attainment through advanced predictive and prescriptive analytics. SCIO will feature its population health solutions and consultative insights as a service approach at the health information technology industry's premier annual conference, HIMSS18, which takes place between Monday, March 5, and Friday, March 9, in Las Vegas.

Serving over 80 healthcare organizations including 20 provider groups and 30 health plans representing more than 90 million members, four of the top six PBMs, and clients in 30 countries for eight of the top 15 global pharmaceutical companies. SCIO’s mission is to drive positive change in healthcare by delivering actionable insights to solve complicated problems simply and efficiently.

SCIO's portfolio of solutions enables healthcare organizations to achieve success in their risk-based agreements by ensuring accurate revenue, improving quality outcomes and optimizing network performance. SCIO's rich history and strong expertise in managing robust data sets enables the delivery of a 360-degree view of healthcare organizations' patients, populations and providers.

SCIO augments providers' EHR strategies by layering on advanced, proprietary predictive and prescriptive analytics for heightened population insights that identify an organization's most impactable patients and populations, and facilitate improved network performance around cost, utilization, leakage and quality outcomes.

For example, in one instance, a Medicaid accountable care organization (ACO) sought to implement a disease management program targeted at closing care gaps related to patients with uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension. SCIO's solution integrated several disparate types of data (electronic health records, prescription, cost, patient history) to stratify patients by risk, create incentive categories for different patient cohorts, track noncompliant members and generate a dashboard for measuring quality outcomes and utilization.

After implementing SCIO's program, the ACO achieved greater patient compliance, increased primary care visits and lower inpatient and emergency room utilization among its uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension patient populations. The disease management program resulted in total cost savings of 8 percent for hypertension and 5 percent for diabetes, and the ACO achieved an overall return on investment of 178 percent.

HIMSS attendees are encouraged to visit SCIO at kiosk #14016 within the Population Health Solutions Lab to learn about how its prescriptive population analytics and flexible delivery models drive strategic engagements for rapid insights and outcomes. Additionally, SCIO Chief Evangelist David Hom will deliver a presentation at HIMSS titled "Behavioral Data and Analytics for a 360-Degree View" on Wednesday, March 7, at 12:30 p.m. Pacific Time in the Population Health Solutions Lab.
